2022-2023 Speedy Soccer
Purpose & Goals
The OSNK United Speedy Soccer Clinics provides current competitive soccer players the opportunity to further develop and hone existing soccer skills while learning more advanced soccer techniques; all in an intensive yet fun and dynamic environment. This program is modeled after our Summer Speedy Soccer Clinics, where players train in preparation for competitive soccer, middle school, or high school tryouts.
Program Snapshot
At it's core, the mission of the program is twofold, as the name “Speedy Soccer” suggests. The “Soccer” component reinforces the fundamental techniques of ball control. Players will get countless numbers of touches on the ball during passing, receiving, dribbling, and foot-skill activities. Players will have the opportunity to apply these skills in small-sided games (mini-scrimmages). “Speedy” focuses on learning and maximizing agility, quickness, balance, and coordination; allowing players to be able to move faster and change direction more quickly WHILE maintaining control of the ball.
More specifically, sessions will teach players how to train both with and without the ball and will work with players to improve their running form, how to turn correctly, improve balance and coordination, and to improve their foot-speed. The program will enhance each player’s multi-directional movements and then provide players with many repetitions with the soccer ball to perfect ball skills, control and coordination. Coaches will provide ideas for individual self-training opportunities to be completed at home.
